Questo casale è posto a meridione del nostro comune, alle sue spalla si erge il Monte Comune che nei tempi antichi era ricoperto da querce, mentre oggi è tutta pascolo per le mucche da latte che forniscono i numerosi caseifici per la produzione dell’ormai famoso “Provolone”. Fino alla fine del 1800 a Preazzano era in attività una filanda di proprietà della famiglia Buonocore che dava lavoro a molti abitanti del posto. Di notevole interesse era anche la lavorazione del legno e dei sui derivati, con larga produzione di cesti e cofani che, si vendevano in tutti i centri della provincia napoletana. I suoi abitanti sono oggi per lo più impegnati in agricoltura, frutteti, orti e vigneti con una buona produzione di vino “e sabato”, anche di latte per i caseifici della zona. Gli abitanti che nel secolo scorso non superavano le 200 unità sono oggi, circa 400. La chiesa parrocchiale è intitolata a S. Andrea Apostolo.
This hamlet is located to the south of our municipality. At its back stands ‘Monte Comune’, which in ancient times was covered with oak trees, while today it is all pastureland for milk cows that supply the numerous dairies that produce the famous ‘Provolene’. Until the end of the 19th century, Preazzano was home to a spinning mill owned by the Buonocore family, which provided work for many local people. Also of considerable interest was the processing of wood and its derivatives, with a large production of baskets and bonnets that were sold in all the centres of the Neapolitan province. Its inhabitants are nowadays mostly engaged in agriculture, orchards, vegetable gardens and vineyards with a good production of wine “e sabato”, and also milk for the local dairies. The inhabitants, who in the last century were no more than 200, are now about 400. The parish church is dedicated to S. Andrea Apostolo.
