The Antonio Asturi Open Museum is a permanent installation dedicated to the painter Antonio Asturi and it is located in the new municipal house in Piazzale Giancarlo Siani.
Antonio Asturi (1904-86), self-taught, was inspired by ancient and contemporary art, both Neapolitan and foreign. Painter of feelings, he portrayed views of Vico Equense, motherhood, portraits of famous characters. The artist cultivated his passion for painting using any kind of material. Count Girolamo Giusso, walking through the streets of Vico Equense, noticed him while portraying glimpses of the landscape and decided to provide him with his first box of paints, helping him starting his artistic life.
Inaugurated on May 20, 2016, the Museum houses about 40 works of the artist donated by the family.
