A weekend dedicated not only to culture, but also to inclusion and participation.
Every Saturday and Sunday, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the museums of Vico Equense open their doors to residents and visitors, offering another opportunity to discover and experience the town’s historical and artistic heritage.
The initiative involves the Antonio Asturi Museum, the Armando De Stefano Museum and the Silio Italico Antiquarium, three cultural venues preserving artworks, historical evidence and stories connected to the identity of Vico Equense.
Open museums, open opportunities
The evening openings take on an even greater significance thanks to the collaboration between the relevant municipal departments and the “Oltre il Guscio” Association.
People with disabilities will help support the evening opening of the museums, taking an active role in the initiative.
The project turns accessibility into genuine participation and highlights the importance of cultural venues as spaces that are open to everyone — not only by making culture accessible, but also by creating opportunities for involvement and employment.
As the Mayor explained:
“Thanks to the cooperation between the relevant municipal departments and the ‘Oltre il Guscio’ Association, people with disabilities will help support the evening opening of our museums.
It is a tangible gesture of inclusion, participation and accessibility. Cultural venues should be open not only through their doors, but also through the opportunities — including employment opportunities — that they offer to everyone. Culture brings people together. Inclusion makes it even more beautiful.”

Visiting the museums is an opportunity to connect with the history of the area and discover the artworks, heritage and stories that tell the story of Vico Equense.
The weekend evening opening hours offer a relaxed way to experience these cultural spaces and make a museum visit part of a wider itinerary, perhaps after a day exploring the historic centre, the coastline and the many attractions of the area.
Residents, tourists and families are all invited to take part: an opportunity to spend the weekend discovering a cultural heritage that belongs to the entire community and that, through initiatives such as this one, becomes increasingly accessible, inclusive and shared.
